May in Santa Barbara real estate
In looking at the numbers for the month of May 2017 in Santa Barbara Real Estate, we can see that New Listings have remained somewhat steady in the 50/60 range. In our second week of the May we had 21 sales go pending in the $1-2 million range, that’s a high number compared to other weeks and months previous. The highest priced sale of this month was Jeff Bridges home in Montecito.
Year after year we see inventory numbers climb from July through September. This year we have seen New Listings remain around 50 +/- through the months, as we head into July we will see if these numbers start to climb as our usual trend suggests.
In the third week of the month we saw pending sales take a slight dip, but they were right back up there in the next week.
It’s a great market to be a part of! We’re still feeling a lack of inventory in the Santa Barbara housing market, this means it’s a great time to sell your home, there’s lots of buyers out there looking for their special place in Santa Barbara. As a buyer, interest rates are still at historic lows, that is pretty exciting too!
